Loved the Hobbit and read it when in early 20’s, but never continued with any other fantasy like Lord Of The Rings etc. And of course never read any Harry Potter. Find I just can’t get into fantasy anymore. To answer your question, I viewed the movie with no knowledge of Harry or any of it and so found it a bit confusing but thought the “surface” story of good versus evil was OK. The effects are very good and enjoyed that.

Oh gosh you at least have to read Harry Potter! The books are WAY better than the movie, and an easy read, so shouldnt take long. I’ve never read the hobbit lol
